New Features!

Procedural Trees

  • The conifer trees that now grow are procedurally generated, so every tree will be unique (out of perhaps trillions of possibilities) in your simulation!
  • Trees are shown to be different heights, and at different ages.

Foxes

  • A fox has been added to the scene!
  • Foxes will leave and enter their den, largely based on how the weather is (don't want to get that pristine coat soaked!)
  • Birds will avoid foxes if they get too close (unless the fox is sleeping!)
  • Foxes have multiple behaviors, including variations on resting, traversing the environment, and hunting behavior.
    • Other possibilities of future fox behavior is raising a family in their den

I've really enjoyed getting to push my limits with what I can add to this game. Both the procedural trees and foxes were larger undertakings because I wanted to replicate their real-life counterparts as closely as possible, while still adhering to the theme and stylistic choices in my game. I think they turned out well, and I expect to expand upon them (and other aspects) as time goes on.

Everything in the simulation is hand-drawn and hand-crafted, made with love. Enjoy!
